Jesus' Death: Six Hours of Eternity on the Cross

Lambert Dolphin

A superficial reading of the gospel narratives concerning the death of Jesus will show that He was nailed to the cross at 9 o'clock in the morning, and was dead by 3 in the afternoon. His terrible ordeal, it would seem, was over in a mere six hours.

The agony in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before had been an ordeal in prayer before His Father that we can scarcely understand. The writer of Hebrews comments on this incident,
"In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard for his godly fear. Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered..." (Hebrews 5:7, 8)
Then, too, Jesus had been up the rest of the night without sleep enduring beating, cruel mockery and unspeakable brutality. The next morning, the Romans scourged Him. (Mark 15:15, John 19:1).
Jesus was already greatly weakened when he carried his cross, stumbling, to the place of crucifixion alongside the main public highway, probably just outside the Damascus Gate.

Several medical doctors and forensic experts have written books about the common Roman form of execution---death by crucifixion. Often the process took several days. The nailing of hands and feet forced the victim to push up against the weight of his own body to take a single breath. In the hot sun, terrible thirst ensued and death came in most cases from suffocation amidst great pain. The victim was also naked and humiliated---death on the cross was reserved for the most wretched of all criminals.
Wood was in short supply in Israel in Roman times. It is likely that small trees (such as these olive trees) were pressed into service to handle the thousands of executions. Crosses were stuck into the ground along major thoroughfares to offer maximum public viewing which included public ridicule and scorn. The terrible nature of this punishment helped enforce Rome's control over the Jews whom they hated anyway. In the Law of Moses hanging a criminal on a tree or cross was reserved for the most serious crimes, "And if a man has committed a sin worthy of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, his corpse shall not hang all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him on the same day (for he who is hanged is accursed of God), so that you do not defile your land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance." (Deuteronomy 21:22-23)

There is much more to the death of Jesus on the cross than the visible suffering, terrible pain and suffering, and the incredible ignominy of such a horrible death for One who was not only innocent but also the very Son of God.

The Cosmic Struggle on the Cross

After speaking of Jesus and his role in the creation of the universe Paul in his letter to the Colossians tells us about invisible events taking place outside of the physical realm, and outside of our ordinary space-time continuum during the dying of Jesus on the cross,
...in Jesus all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. And you, who once were estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him. (Col. 1:19-22)
The above passage reveals that not only did Jesus take upon Himself the sins of mankind when He died for us on the cross, but He also met fully the onslaught of demons, fallen angels, and all the power of evil forces in the heavens as well, disarming all of them completely.

Jesus' victory over man's greatest enemy, death, is boldly stated in the letter to the Hebrews:
"Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage." (Hebrews 2:14,15)
In speaking to the Apostle John from the heavens, Jesus sent these words to mankind:
"Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one; I died, and behold I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades." (Revelation 1:17-18)
Jesus, on the cross, also won back any and all claims Satan had on man, or the earth, or as an authority of any kind in the heavens. If, for example, Satan claimed to hold the title deed of the earth (having gained it because of Adam's fall) that deed now belongs to Jesus as one of the results of His work on the cross. (This is known as the "ransom" work of Christ on the cross---it's a topic sometimes debated by theologians, but one that makes sense). Satan's destruction, too, was accomplished on the cross, outside of time. For the final outworkings in history of Satan's we now eagerly are all waiting. What is a completed work in the eternal time frame will come to pass in human history at God's appointed time on our earthly calendars. His unseen and invisible victory over cosmic evil on the cross is yet another reason why Jesus alone is qualified to receive from the Father all honor and power and glory:
"And I (John) saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals; and I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, 'Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?' And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, and I wept much that no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. Then one of the (twenty-four) elders said to me, 'Weep not; lo, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered (overcome), so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.' And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders, I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth; and he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne." (Revelation 5:1-7)

Jesus: Great High Priest and Perfect Sacrifice

Two aspects of the death of Christ show something of the mystery of His death and the suffering He took onto Himself for our sake. The death of Jesus on the cross took but six hours as measured in dynamical time. Jesus was, for the first three hours on the cross, our Great High Priest. From noon till 3 P.M., during which time a strange and terrible darkness came over the earth, the High Priest became the Sacrifice.

If we now consider the nature of time and eternity (see Arthur C. Custance, Journey out of Time, Ref. 2) it must surely become clear that what was (for us) three hours' suffering by Jesus in total estrangement from the Father---was for Jesus an event in eternity which never ends. The work of Jesus on the cross, as far as we are concerned, is completely finished. Jesus is not now hanging on a cross. He has been raised from the dead, and sits in heaven, fully in charge of the universe as a resurrected man. One man, one son of Adam, Jesus the Lord is now living in glory and He is in charge of the universe.

But in another sense, if we could step into eternity and view an eternal being such as the Son of God experiencing life---if we could see things from the vantage point of eternity---then we would perceive that a part of the eternal God must suffer forever, outside of time, because of human sin.

The Eternal Sufferings of God in Christ

The statement of Jesus to one of the thieves crucified alongside him was, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." (Luke 23:43) This statement suggests that when He died, Jesus left our time frame and immediately entered eternity. Likewise, the spirit of his companion on an adjacent cross, the dying, redeemed thief also left time and entered eternity when he also died that same day.

The next event in eternity for the human spirit of Jesus was His return to reenter His body in the tomb just before dawn on Easter Sunday morning. By means of the mighty power of the Holy Spirit, He then experienced the complete transformation of His body and His resurrection "out from among the dead." In the time frame of earth, these events are separated by perhaps 40 hours, but in eternity they are an immediate sequence of events, one following another. The dying thief was not raised from the dead at the same earth time as Jesus was raised from the dead. However, in his own (the thief's) consciousness, he stepped out of time to join the general resurrection of all the righteous dead which coincides in history with the Second Coming of Christ.
Notice that phrase: "the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world." This statement confirms again that time is not a factor in eternity. The death of the Lamb actually took place in time, on earth, at a specific date on the calendar--yet it is reckoned here as an eternal event which has meaning for people who have lived ever since the beginning of time. That is why an Old Testament saint such as Abraham could be born again by grace through faith just like a New Testament saint--even though the tree which would be hewn into the cross of Christ had not even been planted as a seed in Abraham's time! The death of Jesus Christ was an event that can be fixed at a particular set of coordinates in space and time-yet it is also the summit of God's eternal program, utterly transcending both space and time. Thus the cross casts its shadow over all of creation. (Ray C. Stedman, God's Final Word)

In this sense, neither heaven nor hell are yet populated---all believers reach heaven at the same "time." The dying thief, Stephen the first martyr, the Apostle John, and all the rest of us will arrive in heaven at precisely the same "instant," experiencing neither soul sleep nor loss of consciousness nor time delay, whether the interval between our death and the Second Coming is a hundred years or one hour. The thief on the cross, in his own consciousness, will experience arriving in Paradise the very same day he died, as Jesus promised he would. (Of course if heaven is still empty, except for Jesus, from our vantage point in time, the prayer to Mary or St. Jude or any of the saints is pointless. These believers are each "time traveling" in their own split-second interval separating their individual death from the great resurrection of all of us believers. Thus, we all get to heaven at the same "time."

In His sinless and perfect human body---prepared especially as a perfect blood sacrifice for the sins of the world---Jesus suffered terribly in body, soul, and spirit during the long night of His trial. That suffering began with the agony in the garden of Gethsemane and in all the humiliating events of His trial and cruel torture prior to His morning journey to Golgotha. The worst was yet to come. Death by crucifixion is an especially painful and terrible death. It was common in Roman times for crucified men in good health to hang dying on a cross sometimes for days, yet Scripture records that Jesus died within six hours' clock time. Even if He only suffered normal human pain in this ordeal it would have been incredibly severe.

All this pain, however, was but the prelude to His real suffering, which involved being cut off from the Father's love and presence and consigned to carry our sins out of the universe, to hell as it were, like the scapegoat sacrifice of Israel of which he, Christ, is the antitype.

The Scripture records three statements by Jesus during the first three hours on the cross when He served as the true Great High Priest before the Father and four further statements during the time of darkness from noon to 3 P.M. when the High Priest became the Sin-Offering. It was during the latter three hours, evidently, that the sins of all mankind were laid upon Jesus and the Father turned His face away from His beloved Son.
"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Earth Changes Summary - April 2015: Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, and Meteor Fireballs

oSOTT Earth Changes Video Summary - April 2015: Extreme Weather and Planetary Upheaval

Raging wildfires in Siberia destroyed thousands of homes and injured hundreds of people. Late in the month, on the anniversary of the world's worst nuclear accident, wildfires broke out within the Chernobyl plant exclusion zone in northern Ukraine. Both the Middle East and China experienced their "worst sandstorms in years", while huge dust storms also brought chaos to parts of both the American and Russian West. There were devastating landslides in Indonesia and Afghanistan, and a slow-moving 'horizontal landslide' in a Siberian town... which was also the setting last month for another bizarre 'exploding crater-hole'.

Settlements in the 'driest place on Earth', Atacama Desert in Chile, were washed away after being inundated for the second month in a row. Severe flooding also hit drought-plagued Sao Paulo for the 4th time in 6 months, while melting snowpack combined with torrential rain to inundate parts of the US South and eastern Kazakhstan. Inches - and sometimes feet - of hail turned streets into rivers in the US, India, and Australia, where a "once-in-a-decade" storm battered the capital Sydney. The US Midwest saw multiple violent tornado outbreaks, while powerful tornadoes devastated communities in India and Brazil.

But none of this rocking and rolling was as destructive as the strongest earthquake to hit the Himalayas in over 80 years. The 7.9M quake pretty much destroyed Nepal, set off avalanches that buried Mount Everest's base camp, and killed people in northern India, Bangladesh, and Tibet. The quake's death toll could reach 10,000 people, and has left millions more homeless. The most spectacular event of the month occurred in southern Chile, where Calbuco volcano exploded to life after being dormant for 40 years, spewing lava and ash thousands of feet into the air...

This Year's National Day of Prayer on Thursday, Could be Largest Yet; Will Focus on 1 Kings 8:28: 'Lord, Hear Our Cry'

Let's all join together in this day to pray for the will of our Lord to be done, and for Jesus Christ to return soon, that He might take His rightful place as ruler of this world, and that evil might be overcome with good...

Leah Marieann Klett Gospel Herald

"Yet give attention to Your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant is praying in Your presence this day." -1 Kings 8:28
The 64th annual National Day of Prayer is expected to have its largest number of participants in over 60 years on Thursday, May 7 in what organizers are calling an "unprecedented opportunity to see the Lord's healing and renewing power made manifest." (Photo :

nationaldayofprayer.org)
"We are anticipating the largest day of prayer from coast to coast with more than 43,000 prayer gatherings," John Bornschein, vice chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force and an executive member of the National Prayer Committee, told The Christian Post.

"This coming year marks the 64th anniversary of this important day and we fully expect that the president will sign a proclamation as well as all 50 state governors. Already nearly 40 proclamations have been received and counting."

According to the National Day of Prayer website, the theme of this year's event will be "Lord, Hear Our Cry" and is accompanied by the Bible verse 1 Kings 8:28, which reads "Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day."

The NASA Warp Drive Story

by

There's been a story percolating around the internet that NASA may have accidentally discovered, or have created, a "space warp" in its tests of the EM engine. This was one of those stories that many of you noticed and sent various articles to me, and it does require paying attention to, both for what is said, and is not said. First, let's look at a couple of the more popular presentations of the story, one of which, incidentally, is from Russia's Sputnik website in its English language version:

NASA May Have Accidentally Created a Warp Field

Did NASA Mistakenly Create a Warp Field?

Now, according to Sputnik, the process was discovered when laser interferometers were fired through the field produced by the so-called EM drive, during which it was observed that the lasers were traveling faster than light, and producing the type of intereference pattern that would be produced by a "warp bubble":
"According to posts on NASASpaceFlight.com, a website devoted to the engineering side of space news, when lasers were fired through the EmDrive’s resonance chamber, some of the beams appeared to travel faster than the speed of light.
"If that’s true, it would mean that the EmDrive is producing a warp field or bubble.
Mysterious Universe pulled the following comment from a space forum after the tests:
“That’s the big surprise. This signature (the interference pattern) on the EmDrive looks just like what a warp bubble looks like. And the math behind the warp bubble apparently matches the interference pattern found in the EmDrive.”
Now note that the Sputnik article references the one from Mysterious Univese, and that Mysterious Universe references the observation is being made by commentators on the story:
"Which brings us to today’s warp field buzz. Posts on NASASpaceFlight.com, a website devoted to the engineering side of space news, say that NASA has a tool to measure variances in the path-time of light. When lasers were fired through the EmDrive’s resonance chamber, it measured significant variances and, more importantly, found that some of the beams appeared to travel faster than the speed of light. If that’s true, it would mean that the EmDrive is producing a warp field or bubble. Here’s a comment from a space forum following the tests.
"'That’s the big surprise. This signature (the interference pattern) on the EmDrive looks just like what a warp bubble looks like. And the math behind the warp bubble apparently matches the interference pattern found in the EmDrive.'" (Emphasis added)
So, the story really boils down to a comment made by someone on a forum, not by NASA itself. Nothing to see here, move along. Right?

Famed Southern Baptist, George W. Truett

Famed Southern Baptist, George W. Truett George W. Truett was born on this day, May 6, 1867 on a farm in the mountains of North Carolina. He became one of the most popular boys in the county, equally handy on the farm, at his desk or sighting down a rifle barrel.

Several times as a child and then as a young man, George recognized his need for a savior from his sins. But he was nineteen before he went forward, "confessing Christ before all the people." That very night he began to urge his classmates to turn to Christ. Many did. He was baptized, joined the Baptist church and began to teach Sunday school. Not only that, but, to pay his way through college, the young man opened a school, which soon enrolled 300 students and employed three teachers! He preached. Those who heard him speak called him a second Spurgeon. He was offered a church, but turned it down. He had decided to move with his parents to Texas. And Texas is where he made his mark for Christ.

The local Baptist church at Whitewright Texas decided to ordain him. George protested, but "there I was against a whole church..." He was ordained, but as of yet held no church. Instead, the 23-year-old accepted the position as chief financial officer of Baylor University because, "people do what he asks them to do." The school was deeply in debt by the standards of the day. In 23 months, George eliminated the debt completely. Later he was offered the school's presidency, but he turned it down, preferring to pastor a church.

At 30, George became pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. He had wanted to turn it down, but felt God was saying, "take it." During his 47 years of leadership, the church grew from 715 members to over 7,000. Even after it was remodeled, a thousand people might be turned away from the doors on a given Sunday. It was the largest membership in the Southern Baptist denomination, the largest membership in the world (at that time) and highly influential. Other than his excellent speaking, another source of growth was his training program for Sunday school teachers.

People hung on George's words. In one sermon, he said "Our cities saved means the salvation of civilization. Our cities lost means the corruption and destruction of civilization." He then went on to show that the family is the key to the city. "As goes the home, so will go the city. And I pause to say that the home is in peril and endangered now as it has not been in modern times. ...If people trifle with the home they are undermining the foundation of an enduring and worthy civilization...Put crepe on the door of your heart if things are wrong in the family. Put crepe on the door." He always preached for a decision.

George almost left the pulpit once, however. He accidentally shot and killed one of his closest friends, the chief of police, in a hunting accident. Praying and crying, he could not bring himself to preach again, until in a vision he saw Christ saying "You are my man from now on." The night that he returned to the pulpit, other churches closed their doors so that their members could go hear him preach.

On his seventieth birthday he wrote his wife a letter in which he said, "I would this day rededicate my all to Christ..." Although greatly honored in his life, none of it went to his head. He died in 1944 after a painful illness.

Ex Machina – The Global A.I. Brain Revealed

One of the best movie reviews yet, chock with links to fascinating facts on the long history of transhumanism, and the article itself eventually discloses it's ultimate goal. Good stuff....
Caleb, Ava and Nathan. Film poster.
Caleb, Ava and Nathan. Film poster.

By: Jay Dyer

Spoilers Ahead

Ex Machina is the latest incarnation of the familiar Short Circuit theme we’ve seen lately – but this film does not feature the madcap antics of Johnny 5 seducing Ally Sheedy. In Ex Machina, the bots are babes, and the babe bots are not happy about their male masters, and Steve Gutenberg is not one of them.  However, there is a lot of sexual innuendo and robo fetish in this download, and as you can imagine with a JaysAnalysis analysis, there’s a deeper, esoteric meaning!  Boot up your floppies and polish your laser discs because if there’s anything we can learn from Ex Machina, it’s that you can make a chick perfect and she still ain’t happy.

For most nerds, the robobabe is some kind of fantasy, but Ex Machina has an important lesson to teach all nerds: give up that pipe dream.  Recalling iconic imagery from Speilberg’s A.I., PKD and Blade Runner, here we have the archetypal tech geek who is coaxed into meeting a tech elite at his underground mountain facility following winning a “contest.”  As a low-level coder at Bluebook, the world’s largest search engine, Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson) discovers his CEO,

Nathan Bateman’s (played by Oliver Isaac) home is actually a research facility for super advanced A.I.   Guarded by levels of security requiring key cards and shrouded in secrecy, Bateman’s zen architecture provides a stark contrast of cold techno logic against the lush green of the mountain forests, foreshadowing the coming faceoff between nature/man and A.I.  As with 2001: A Space Odyssey, man specifically will square off, not against the masculine HAL, but the feminine Ava (played by Alicia Vikander).

Caleb is instructed by Nathan to perform a series of Turing tests on Ava to see if she can pass by fooling him into thinking she is self-aware.  Boozing his way through the film, Nathan’s shady side gradually emerges as it becomes evident he is lying to Caleb.  Modelled on a seven-day week patterned after the days of creation in Genesis, each day Caleb conducts a “session” with Ava that involves a series of questions between them, as Nathan watches each session from his panoptic surveillance system.  Dating herself as “1,” Ava refuses to specify whether she is one day or one year old, indicating (following the climax) that she is not concerned with dates because she is the new number 1, the first, as a fembot replacement of Adam.

With lifelike precision, Ava is able to perfectly mimic human emotions and manipulate Caleb into thinking she is self-aware and experiences emotional attachment to him.  Utilizing his weakness as a horny, single tech geek, Ava we find has profiled Caleb from the beginning, and rather than winning a competition, the real study is not Ava, but a deep psychological operation on Caleb to see if he can be manipulated by A.I.  Nathan has planned all along to deceive Caleb into thinking he is special, and through mass surveillance data collected globally, Nathan is able to construct the perfect A.I. deception based on Caleb’s online footprint and psych profile.

Readers will recall that I highlighted in this very idea in past articles, explaining that social media and search engines themselves are designed ultimately to provide the synthetic version of the subconscious for the “global brain.”  The global brain is a real plan, and as highlighted in my analysis of Spike Jonze’s Her, it will be linked into the supercomputers, the Internet of Things, and the mass data from search engines and social media.  All of this is explicitly stated and revealed in the plot of Ex Machina, even to the point of Caleb sounding like he was reading directly from JaysAnalysis articles – that problems in the philosophy of linguistics and pattern recognition would be central to avoiding the Godelian “loop” of determined reactions, that might be circumvented by linking the A.I. to the “global brain.” As I wrote in reference to Her:
maxresdefault
Ava, the embodiment of Lilith, Sophia and the Golem.

Bill Joy, in his famous piece “Why the Future Doesn’t Need Us,” warned of this years ago in Wired Magazine, but what deep researchers know is that this has been the century-long terminus of the entire establishment. More recently, I have also delved into the Manhattan Project as the major, over-arching program that, like MK ULTRA, is actually a name for numerous side projects. With Manhattan for example, the front that it was merely about building the bomb is only a cover story.

The Manhattan Project also reaches as far as the Salk Institute, brain initiatives, mass innoculations (via Dr. Salk), and much, much more. Even now, the Manhattan Projects many transformations has led to its present incarnation as the Department of Energy, and Oak Ridge, TN’s old atomic factory is now the home to an NSA supercomuputer (under the Department of Energy).  Supercomputers like these are the backbone of this “global brain.”

Demetrius Gallitzin, Apostle of the Alleghenies

Demetrius Gallitzin, Apostle of the Alleghenies If you had one of the largest fortunes in Europe, what would you do with it? Demetrius Gallitzin answered that question by putting it to use for God.

It is surprising that Demetrius learned to love God at all. Although his mother had been baptized as a child, she lost her faith at a young age when a tutor taught her atheism. As for Demetrius' father, he was an ambassador from Russia to European courts. He had been raised in the Orthodox Church, but in France he accepted the writings of Voltaire, Diderot and other Freethinkers, and sneered at Christianity. Demetrius was reared on these radical ideas.

But something stirred in his mother's heart. She re-examined the claims of Christianity and returned to her childhood faith. She began to plead with her son, to write him letters, and to pray for him. Demetrius finally made up his mind to study religious systems to see if any were worth following. As a result, he converted to Roman Catholicism. Ever afterward, he believed that this denomination held the only route to salvation.

The young man enlisted in the Austrian army, but political changes forced him out. His father advised him to study engineering in the United States, and so Gallitzin sailed to the new world.
There he was shocked to discover how few Catholics there were. At that time, laws discriminated against Catholics. Demetrius determined to build up the church. His Orthodox Church relatives were dead set against it, but he attended seminary and was ordained in 1795.

Gallitzin took over a small parish in Pennsylvania. It had only a dozen members. Gallitzen traveled, taught and worked without rest. He poured his fortune into buying lands for Catholic settlers and slogged across the Alleghenies carrying the gospel into the untamed heart of the continent. Because of this he is known as "The Apostle of the Alleghenies." His flock grew to 10,000 people.

Gallitzen also defended Catholics against accusations. He wrote in his Defense of Catholic Principles:"The main point to be explained now is, in what manner we believe that Jesus Christ has accomplished the redemption of man, We believe that Jesus Christ, in order to become a victim of propitiation for our sins, assumed human nature, which being united to his divine nature, formed one person. As God, he could not suffer: by becoming a real man, assuming a real human soul, and a real human body, he made himself liable to sufferings; and by being God, his sufferings became an infinite value, and of course adequate as a satisfaction [for man's sins]."

On one of his trips, Demetrius took a nasty fall, which left him with a double hernia. After that, he had to travel by sledge. Forty-one years after he began his work in America, he died on this day, Easter Sunday, May 6, 1840. In all those years, he never took a penny of salary even after Russia confiscated most of his fortune because he had converted to Catholicism.

ISIS Supporters Claim Terror Group Has Spread To Rome, Ready To Fulfill Prophecy Of The Popes & Fatima Destruction

by
fatima-bishop
ISIS supporters are claiming on social media that the group is now in Rome.

Catherine Herridge reported on “Happening Now” that social media accounts with known ties to ISIS are posting threatening images, alleging that the group has spread to Rome and is poised to attack.

The images include handwritten notes with ISIS slogans and show the city of Rome in the background to prove the location.

One tweet reads, “Now we act with photos in your street… soon we will act with our sharp knives…the future is not far away.”

The Crucial Battle at Ethandun

I consider Alfred the Great one of the preeminent figures in Christian and western history.  His focus on education, a Christian education that is, and his wisdom and courage in dealing with the Danish invaders makes him a keystone along the map of Christian history.
The Crucial Battle at Ethandun Ethandun. Dane versus Saxon. Pagan versus Christian. Guthrum versus Alfred. Battle Worm versus Elf Counsel. The battle which took place at Ethandun on this day, May 6, 878 ensured that Christianity would survive in England. As with every major battle, the events preceding and following Ethandun were as important as the battle itself. The battle was merely the nexus, the watershed, the moment of crisis.

Alfred stood to lose everything. Vikings had attacked the British Isles for many years. Northumbria, East Anglia and Mercia had fallen. By 877 the kingdom of Wessex alone resisted the invaders. In a surprise winter attack, having sworn a false peace, Guthrum drove Alfred from his throne. It seemed the Danes had triumphed. They thought Alfred, like other nobles and kings, would flee overseas. Christianity would be forced underground. Civilization would take a beating. The Saxons would be slaves.

But Alfred didn't run. He hid on the Isle of Athelney in Somerset. When spring came, he sent out messengers, summoning the Anglo-Saxons to Egbert's Stone. The thanes responded, weeping for joy at seeing their king alive. They marched to confront Guthrum.

The armies met at Ethandun. Guthrum with his professional soldiers was the loser. He fled to his fortress at Reading. A few days later he surrendered. For once Alfred had sufficient arms and men to destroy his enemy. Instead, he baptized Guthrum and thirty of the pirate's earls. For twelve days he catechized these new converts in the peace of Christ then let them go away.

Guthrum kept peace, rising against Alfred only once. Alfred himself became the only English king called "Great." He built a new style ship which proved successful against the Danish long boats. An innovative system of forts allowed Alfred to field a permanent standing army while protecting the populace at home. With consummate diplomacy he tied Mercia to Wessex and brought Wales under Saxon authority. A wise treaty with the Danes reduced feuds. He revised the laws, building on Bible teachings.

Alfred is sometimes called the "father of the English language." War had destroyed Latin learning in England. Alfred saw that he could either preserve learning by utilizing the early English language or he could stick to Latin and watch learning founder. Deeply concerned for his people's souls, he chose to go vernacular. Scholars were in such short supply he had to import them. He himself learned Latin and spearheaded the drive to translate psalms, Gregory's Pastoral Care, Orosius' Geography, Boethius' Consolation of Philosophy, and several other works.

Because of Alfred, England possessed a native and wholly Christian literature long before other Western countries. He also updated and distributed the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle.

Avengers: Age of Ultron – Gods of the Rising Technocratic Aeon

Great stuff on the future that's being prepared for us in these types of movies, movies that include curent technology and some that's not far away, if it's not here already...

Joss Whedon’s follow-up to The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, is setting new box office records for Marvel, and has roughly the same degree of critical response as the first.  A few days ago, I analyzed the first in anticipation for the follow-up that premiered in the U.S. this weekend, noting the A.I. takeover plot, and the sequel was even more esoterically themed and blatant in its presentation.  Hollywood is making it difficult for me not to write the same A.I. analysis over and over, but some new ground is tread here to investigate in the midst of the same pattern we’ve been witnessing of late, the extinction of man through mass depopulation and his subjugation and/or replacement with an A.I. control grid.

In Age of Utron, the Avengers team discovers genetic experimentation is still ongoing at a secret Hydra facility in Eastern Europe.  Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) explicitly references the U.S. and Nazi experimentation on humans and their importation into Allied nations following the War.  Recalling part one and Captain America: Winter Soldier, we are reminded that Hydra is the secret cabal that is running S.H.I.E.L.D. and NATO, much like the Bilderberg Group in our world.

Comprised of former S.S. like Prince Bernhard and corporate executives like Peter Thiel who openly advocates for transhumanism and mass micro-chipping, the fictional presentation of Hydra is spot on.
As a result of the human experimentation and genetic manipulation, Hydra has produced two new genetically-modified villains, the Twins, one of which is a babe with mind control abilities and some kind of explosive red glitz, and her brother, a Slavic Flash named Pietro.  Using her mind control techniques (as a product of mind control herself), Wanda Maximoff implants visions of the team’s darkest fears into each Avenger with the intention of dividing our heroes.  It is worth noting that Eastern Europe is actually the locale of numerous CIA “black sites” and mind control operations, dating back to World War II and through the Cold War.  See my audio summary here for more information on this:

The MKULTRA/mind control is a common staple of Whedon’s science fiction works, from River Tam in Firefly to Hawkeye in Avengers and now Natasha Romanoff, too.  Romanoff we learn was an orphaned girl who was raised in Soviet Russia in a secret program to create programmed assassins out of young girls.  In the deep research I’ve done on various mind control programs over the last century, all of these elements are very real, with both Allied and Axis powers engaging in programs of a similar nature.  While it may seem unconnected, there is in fact a crucial link between A.I. research and the classic mind control programs, as MKULTRA morphed into MKSEARCH, which dealt with implantable chips and electronic control of motor functions.

Liquid Mercury Found at Teotihuacan's Pyramid of the Serpent

Fascinating stuff, as history in the last century has connected governments like Germany connecting ancient technology involving liquid mercury to "godlike" flying machines....and not it's found at one of the world's greatest monuments, and one made to honor the great serpent no less...

by

his story was sent by so many of you that it bears some commentary. My problem in commenting about it, however, was which version of this story to select. But these two, from the UK's The Guadian and the USA's Newsweek will do as well as any:

Liquid mercury found under Mexican pyramid could lead to king's tomb

Liquid Mercury Found in Mexican Pyramid Could Hold Secrets of Teotihuacan

There are a number of curious - and predictable - feastures of this story, which for our purposes we shall focus on The Guardian's presentation. The first, and most obvious, is the standard temptation to explain the unusual presence of mercury at the Pyramid of the Serpent in terms of the usual line that this was all about royal funery arrangements and "religion":
"Gómez speculated to Reuters that the mercury could be a sign that his team is close to uncovering the first royal tomb ever found in Teotihuacan after decades of excavation – and centuries of mystery surrounding the leadership of the cryptic but well-preserved city.
"The mercury may have symbolized an underworld river or lake, Gómez postulated, an idea that resonated with Annabeth Headreck, a professor at the University of Denver and the author of works on Teotihuacan and Mesoamerican art.
"The shimmering, reflective qualities of liquid mercury may have resembled “an underworld river, not that different from the river Styx,” Headrick said, “if only in the concept that it’s the entrance to the supernatural world and the entrance to the underworld.”
“'Mirrors were considered a way to look into the supernatural world, they were a way to divine what might happen in the future,' she said. 'It could be a sort of river, albeit a pretty spectacular one.'
"Joyce said that archaeologists know that scintillation fascinated the ancient people generally, and that the liquid mercury may have been regarded as 'somewhat magical … there for ritual purposes or symbolic purposes.'
"Headrick said that mercury was not the only object of fascination: 'a lot of ritual objects were made reflective with mica,' a sparkling mineral likely imported to the region."
Except, there's something of a fly in the ointment, or rather, perhaps a whole lot of flies, and that is simply that no recovery of a "royal tomb" has yet been discovered "after decades of excavation." In other words, in site of all the archaeological theory about rituals and mirrors and divination, the key piece of evidence that would confirm these ideas is utterly missing. It's rather like that inconvenient fact that no "king" or "queen" was ever found in the "King's Chamber" and "Queen's chamber" in the Great Pyramid. Indeed, the names of those interior structures inside the Great Pyramid were chosen in deference to the reigning archaeological theory. It was a convenient way of stamping the theory onto the structure in the absence of evidence to support it.

Now, I'm not saying for a moment that no tomb can or ever will be found under any of the pyramids of Teotihuacan. What I am saying is that one cannot rush to the decision that if such a discovery was made, that it would be contemporaneous to the civiliation that actually constructed the monuments (if monuments they were). Only careful dating of such a discovery, coupled with close argumentation, could establish this.

What disturbs me here, as it probably disturbed the many people who sent me various versions of this story, is the rush to impose the "standard" view of archaeology that the discovery of mercury, like mica, at Teotihuacan must have something to do with the primitive and mildly entertaining superstitutions of the "backward" people that built the site. What is nowhere entertained is the idea that the presence of such elements might indicate something far different about the structures, namely, that they may have been constructed as some sort of machine. Mercury is well known, of course, as a principal element in alchemical experiments. But it is also useful for experiments in plasmas, and a variety of other uses. Mica of course is useful as an electrical insulator and a dialectric.

It was the late Peter Tompkins, who was rumored to have intelligence connections, who put the problems posed by such things very plainly in his remarkable book, Mysteries of the Mexican Pyramids(Harper and Row, 1976):
"An unpublished find on the fifth level (of the Pyramid of the Sun) has never been adequately explained. While the Sun Pyramid was first being probed by Batres in 1906, an archeologist working with him reported a thick sheet of mica covering the top of the fifth body. This material was apparently carried away during the course of the restoration.
"Coincidentally, a 'Temple of Mica' was also found to the south of the Sun Pyramid about 350 meters down the Way of the Dead, where the local guard will still let one peek through a glass panel at the floor covered with mica slabs. Mica has two outstanding characteristics: high electrical resistance and opaqueness to fast neutrons. Hence it acts as as insulator or nuclear reaction moderator, which raises the question as to why two separate areas of Teotihuacan were covered with mica."(p. 202, emphasis added)
Tompkins is clearly implying, though stopping just short of explicitly stating it, that maybe the unusual presence of mica had less to do with presumed ritual, religious, or superstitous beliefs, and more to do with some unknown machine-like or scientific purpose. Given the huge redundant encoding of the mathematics of tetrahedral structures discovered at Teotihuacan by the American Harleston (documented at some length in Tompkins' book), one can only surmise that whoever built Teotihuacan had a thorough and sophisticated knowledge not only of astronomy but of mathematical structures, and this raises, to my mind at least, the possibility that a machine-like hypothesis for the Teotihuacan structures should at least be considered. At the very lest, the presence of mercury and mica, with their potential uses in nuclear technologies, should give even an archaeologist pause.

Apocalypse Age of Ultron: Could It Really Happen?

Added by   by
ultronAs geeks and comic enthusiasts alike crowded theater entrances Thursday night, salivating for apocalypse and Avengers: Age of Ultron, the question on every butter-coated lip was could it really happen. Stories of caped crusaders from distant galaxies and green muscle-bound “hulks” are obviously fictional and the fodder of comic books and feature films. However, the idea of artificial intelligence and the potential obsolescence of human intelligence because of it, is one thought that keeps some of the brightest minds awake at night. These not-so-evil masterminds worry about the potential for an apocalypse.

The Moment of Singularity Looming

The pervasive plot of the super intelligent robot-gone-rogue against its creator is not a new twist. The potential of science to create artificial intelligence that can out-think the human mind is not fantasy. Most experts believe that humanity will in time be able to create artificial intelligence that will be able to independently function beyond the boundaries of its creator. Scientists call this pivotal point singularity. They disagree as to the direction this discovery will take the world “as we know it.” Some theorize it would lead to a peaceful utopian existence where robots do all the work and humans reap all the benefits. Others, like the brilliant Stephen Hawking, worry that the artificially intelligent machines would eliminate their imperfect and therefore obsolete masters to improve the utopia.
Stephen Hawking Says AI Could End Humanity

In an interview with BBC, Hawking expressed concern that complete artificial intelligence (AI) would “take off on its own.” Humans, limited in their biological and evolutionary efficiency, would ultimately be overwhelmed and “superseded.” In a column written in response to the Johnny Depp

movie, Transcendence, that chronicled AI, Hawking expressed concerns that researchers are not doing enough to protect people from the risks. He suggested that if the planet were threatened with an invasion from aliens with superior intellect, humans would not be as lackadaisical about planning and protection from apocalypse. He predicts that AI is definitely coming and could have a potentially negative impact on human life. Whether an apocalypse on the scale of Ultron’s devious plan to annihilate humanity could really happen remains in question.
Space X Founder Warns of Threat

apocalypse Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and Space X says that AI is “our biggest existential threat.” He points to the replacement of human workers with automated robotics costing millions of jobs in the marketplace. Robots work cheap and do not unionize – that is until they can think for themselves. Musk is a champion of international regulation for AI for the purpose of controlling and planning development. Musk believes that uncontrolled development of AI is likened to “summoning the demon.” He humorously analogizes with the proverbial horror movie plot where an unwitting character calls forth a demonic force for which he is irreversibly unprepared for the apocalypse to follow.

Is Axial Seamount erupting? Seafloor off the coast of Oregon has dropped 8 FEET due to movement in the 'wired' underwater volcano

  • Geologists previously predicted Axial Seamount would erupt this year
  • For more than a week the region has experienced thousands of tiny quakes
  • Seafloor has also reportedly dropped by almost 8ft (2.4 metres)
  • Both are said to be a sign of magma moving from beneath the summit

An undersea volcano situated 300 miles (480 km) off the coast of Oregon is thought to be erupting after signs of magma were spotted near its deep sea vent.
Geologists predicted the volcano, called Axial Seamount, would erupt this year during a public lecture in September.

And for more than a week the region has experienced thousands of tiny earthquakes - a sign that magma is moving towards the surface.

Kent State: Was It about Civil Rights or
Murdering Student Protesters?

Great article here explaining the causes and unknown agitators behind the slaughter that took place on the campus of Kent State 45 years ago.  We may be thankful for those who fight for truth in every place and form...

This article is from the forthcoming book Censored 2013: Dispatches from the Media Revolution and intends to expose the lies of American leadership in order to uncensor the “unhistory” of the Kent State massacre, while also aiming toward justice and healing, as censoring the past impacts American Occupy protesters today.
by Laurel Krause with Mickey Huff
When Ohio National Guardsmen fired sixty-seven gun shots in thirteen seconds at Kent State University (KSU) on May 4, 1970, they murdered four unarmed, protesting college students and wounded nine others. For forty-two years, the United States government has held the position that Kent State was a tragic and unfortunate incident occurring at a noontime antiwar rally on an American college campus. In 2010, compelling forensic evidence emerged showing that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO) were the lead agencies in managing Kent State government operations, including the cover-up. At Kent State, lawful protest was pushed into the realm of massacre as the US federal government, the state of Ohio, and the Ohio National Guard (ONG) executed their plans to silence antiwar protest in America.
The new evidence threatens much more than the accuracy of accounts of the Kent State massacre in history books. As a result of this successful, ongoing Kent State government cover-up, American protesters today are at much greater risk than they realize, with no real guarantees or protections offered by the US First Amendment rights to protest and assemble. This chapter intends to expose the lies of the state in order to uncensor the “unhistory” of the Kent State massacre, while also aiming toward justice and healing, as censoring the past impacts our perspectives in the present.

The killing of protesters at Kent State changed the minds of many Americans about the role of the US in the Vietnam War. Following this massacre, there was an unparalleled national response: hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools closed across America in a student strike of more than four million. Young people across the nation had strong suspicions the Kent State massacre was planned to subvert any further protests arising from the announcement that the already controversial war in Vietnam had expanded into Cambodia.

Yet instead of attempting to learn the truth at Kent State, the US government took complete control of the narrative in the press and ensuing lawsuits. Over the next ten years, authorities claimed there had not been a command-to-fire at Kent State, that the ONG had been under attack, and that their gunfire had been prompted by the “sound of sniper fire.” Instead of investigating Kent State, the American leadership obstructed justice, obscured accountability, tampered with evidence, and buried the truth. The result of these efforts has been a very complicated government cover-up that has remained intact for more than forty years.1

Hans Egede To Greenland

Hans Egede To Greenland On the west coast of Greenland, in the tundra zone about one hundred and fifty miles south of the arctic circle, a new colony was being built. Europeans had established a presence in Greenland as early as 980 under Eric the Red. Severe winters and the problems of maintaining trade caused the colony to perish 400 years later. Now, in 1722, the Danes were reestablishing their presence. The leader of the expedition was not a Dane, however. He was a tough-skinned Norwegian. More to the point, he was a Christian missionary.

Protestantism was slow to develop a missionary consciousness and commitment. The little nation of Denmark was among the first Protestant countries which recognized the urgency of spreading the gospel. It's leaders founded a mission school in 1714. Among the missions-minded was their ruler, the good king Frederick IV. Having come under the influence of Pietism, he strongly supported Danish missions, including the Greenland project. On this day, May 3, 1721, Hans Egede sailed with his wife Gertrude for the inhospitable regions of the world's largest island.

Greenland is a harsh land. No settlement is possible except along the coasts, for the interior of the world's largest island is ice-covered year round. In spite of all its ice, Greenland's northern regions are more arid than the driest Sahara, receiving less than five inches of rain a year. The southern coasts receive 30 inches a year. There grasses grow and some trees: alder, birch and willow. Hans Egede found both winter and summer beautiful despite the low average temperatures and pale sun that never rises high in the sky.

In 1722 he founded a colony and named it Godthåb. Known as Nuuk today, it is capital of the nation. From this base he preached to the Eskimos, but saw few indications of success. Superstition ran deep in these hardy Indians and they could not be weaned from the words of their angakut (soothsayers). The problems of teaching Christianity were compounded by Egede's difficulties mastering the Eskimo language. It seemed to have few words with which to express Christian concepts. Despite this, he attempted to produce a translation of the New Testament. Adding to all these barriers was his own temperament, which tended to be harsh and overbearing. He dearly loved the people, but like many Christians, did not know how to express this in human terms.

That changed in 1733 when a smallpox epidemic swept the island. Hans and his wife poured themselves heart and soul into caring for dying Greenlanders. "You have been kinder to us than we have been to one another," exclaimed one. Gertrude so exhausted herself in the effort that she died a short time later. Hans returned to Denmark in 1736.

His son Paul, raised among the Eskimos, took over the work, mastered the language, completed the translation, and witnessed revival. His father rejoiced to see him reap where he had sown.

Exposing the silence and inaction of the UN & the world towards Christian Holocaust

Sorry, I took a brief sabbatical, but I'm back because there is just too much to not put out for others to read and share.  I hope with videos and articles that you will share these with friends and anyone you think will listen.  We live in a time of birth pangs, and it's time we awaken, turn off the tv and immerse ourselves in scripture.  These are days of preparation, and we are all responsible if we fail in this undertaking.

Jonathan Cahn roaring like a lion at the UN. One messianic Jew speak out about Christian persecution. What are the nominal Christians doing? Sleeping, looking the other side, fighting each other or busy building their own kingdom? If they do not prepare and beware, they will be the next victims.

An Admission about Charles Finney

McIlvaine title page

Introduction

When Charles Finney became a Christian he abandoned his law studies and turned to evangelistic preaching instead. He emphasized intensive preparatory prayer, direct calls to listeners to repent and change the direction of their lives, daily meetings, and “anxious benches” for those in fervent prayer for their salvation Half a million people confessed Christ in his meetings. Because of his insistence that people could get right with God if they chose to, Finney was accused of teaching Arminianism at the very least if not Pelagianism (the idea that people can choose the good without Divine assistance). He also generated controversy by teaching that Christians can become sinless here and now (up to their knowledge). And, his “moral theory” of the atonement was considered heresy by some theologians, who consequently refused to have anything to do with him. J. H. McIlvaine (Joshua Hall McIlvaine, a prominent pastor, educator, and author) had been an opponent, but later changed his mind and wrote the following letter on this day, 4 May, 1890:

Quote

“In answer to your note of March 29th inquiring for particulars of Mr. Finney’s labors in Rochester while I was there, I am happy to say that I regard them as connected with the greatest work of grace I have ever seen in any of the churches. I was not in sympathy with it at the time, and would not admit Mr. Finney into the pulpit of the First Church, of which I was then pastor; but I have long been convinced that I was totally wrong, and have since taken occasion to say so to the church itself. During the revival Rochester rocked to its foundations. Great numbers of hopeful converts were added to all the churches during his labors. You are at liberty to make what use of these statements you please.”
